Description:
We were moved through a succession of six foster homes through our high school years staring in Weston, Missouri (1969-1971) and we graduated from North Kansas City High School (1972). The Brown family was our second foster home. We were the thirteenth child in the home upon our arrival. The family lived on a small farmstead just outside of Weston, Missouri. We attended West Platte High School in Weston. It took us an entire year to win our classmates over: We started out being called, “Fat Albert.” The kids shortened this to just, “Albert,” the following year. We were selected to play the role of Horace Vandergelder in the school’s production of “Hello Dolly" that second year!
This music for String Quartet honors the memory of Richard S. Brown. Together with his wife, Nancy, these two people had love enough to share when no others had either the time or inclination. Dick Brown “fell asleep” December 27, 1992 in Marshall, Missouri.
