Description:
The orchestral score is dedicated to one of our mentors, poet Dan Jaffe. Dan has published many books of poetry. The Vocal Score is dedicated to Dr. Gustavo Halley. Dr. Halley was our voice teacher at the Conservatory of Music and Dance, University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Halley is, himself, a bass and has performed many professional opera roles throughout his artistic career. Dr. Halley has retired and holds Professor Emeritus status at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Description:
Symphonic work with vocals based upon a poem by the composer, Soaring Into Forever. Dutch transliteration of the poem was done by a friend from The Netherlands, Bram Wijnands. Bram is also a fantastic jazz pianist.

Work on project completed the election night 2008 and is dedicated to the “Poet-President” Barack Obama.

Description:
This orchestral work centers upon one of the largest planets in our solar system, Saturn. The layers of Saturn's beautiful rings find many smaller moons nestled within them. We found several pictures of Saturn on the World Wide Web to draw creative inspiration from as we worked on the draft.

The work is dedicated to two favorite vocal music teachers from our high school years: Lana Babcock taught at West Platte High School, Weston, Missouri and is now retired. Donna Lou Piper was directing the chorus at North Kansas City High School when we graduated in 1972. Both of these women are fantastic musicians and were highly competent educators. They each saw something “special” with our budding skill as a musician and mentored the rather lost-looking foster child being moved through a series of six foster homes during his high school years. We love and miss both of them.

The music is divided into several movements:

It is a Starfleet training exercise designed to test the character of cadets in the command track at Starfleet Academy....The test's name is occasionally used among Star Trek fans or those familiar with the series to describe a no-win scenario, or a solution that involves redefining the problem (Outside the box).” [Found online: Wikipedia]

We've dedicated this work of art to commemorate the opening of the new Crossroads location for the main facility of Truman Medical Centers Behavioral Health in October 2011. The mentally ill people in the catchment area for this state licensed facility will continue to receive the best care available with current federal and state funding.
